Dhurandhar 2 is just ten days away and there will be absolute carnage at the box office. At least for the first few days anyway. Remember, Dhurandhar didn't open to record-breaking numbers and the first weekend was also not a record, although it did have an excellent start with rapid growth across each passing day. Thereafter. Dhurandhar tore apart the record books by claiming all major Hindi film records.
That one missing link Dhurandhar's box office will be conquered by Dhurandhar 2 as the sequel is set for a hurricane start at the box office. Initially scheduled for a March 19, 2026 release, the producers of Dhurandhar 2 decided to up the ante by going for paid previews that have also seen a massive wide release on March 18.
The paid preview shows for Dhurandhar 2 will begin from 5 pm onwards and the pre-sales has already clocked Rs 7 crore within barely 24 hours. For the record, Stree 2 recorded paid previews of Rs 8.75 crore nett and it remains the highest paid previews collection for a Hindi film. That will history in the next few hours as Dhurandhar 2 gears up to create mind-boggling numbers.
It's too early to make predictions but if the previews go to plan and if the film gets the same reception as Dhurandhar, then Dhurandhar 2 could do the unthinkable on its opening day by clocking Rs 100 crore nett in India. Unlike its predecessor, Dhurandhar 2 is also releasing in dubbed versions as well. Therefore, the three-figure mark on March 19 looks a realistic possibility.
For now, the paid previews itself should zoom past Rs 35 crore nett and could easily go past Rs 40 crore as well. Can it touch Rs 45 crore is the question? Remember, this is with shows starting only from 5 pm onwards, although ticket rates have been hiked to insane levels.
For instance, multiplexes in metros have a starting range of Rs 700 while single screens area also going at at least Rs 400. Therefore, the full-fledged release on the next day should aim for Rs 100 crore nett, at least with all dubbed versions included.
The trailer of Dhurandhar 2 has gone viral and the promo has elevated the already historic hype to the next level. Can Dhurandhar 2 better its predecessor at the box office? These are unprecedented numbers to breach but it's safe to say that the opening for Dhurandhar 2 will definitely lay the platform for establishing new benchmarks. The rest will depend on how the film clicks with the audience.
