Salman Khan to play superhero for 'The Family Man' team's next?

According to a report, filmmakers Raj & Dk have been in talks with the "Sultan" and "Ek Tha Tiger" star for playing a different kind of superhero, without going overboard with the budget

Salman Khan has reportedly been in talks with the director duo Raj & DK for a while, and sources suggest that it could prove to be a major change in direction for the actor and the filmmakers known for shows like "The Family Man", "Farzi" and "Guns & Gulaab".

According to Bollywood Hungama's exclusive report, the filmmakers are developing a quirky superhero film for Salman, which is expected to be in the vein of the Will Smith's "Hancock".

As per a source close to the development, "Salman Khan will portray a superhero who is ready to retire, tired of constantly saving the world. He wants to hang up his cape but finds himself repeatedly pulled back into action due to unforeseen circumstances, eventually finding himself entangled in a bigger conflict. The narrative combines broad comedy with superhero elements, creating a high-concept superhero comedy."

The source further revealed that Salman Khan is excited about the concept and is waiting for Raj and DK to finalize the screenplay. "Salman is keen on ensuring that the film is made within the right budget. He’s not looking to do a big-budget superhero film and has asked the directors to consider this aspect while developing the script," the insider added.

A formal narration is expected to take place in April 2026, with the possibility of the film going on the floors by November 2026, if everything falls into place. The project is being produced by Mythri Movie Makers in collaboration with Reel Life Entertainment.

If everything works out according to plan, the project could mark Salman's maiden collaboration with Raj & DK and Mythri, and place it in everyone's radar.

Meanwhile, Salman will be next seen in the war movie "Battle of Galwan".
