'Sirai' OTT release: When and where to watch the Tamil crime drama?

Headlined by Vikram Prabhu and LK Akshay Kumar, 'Sirai' is Rajakumari's directorial debut. He previously worked as acclaimed filmmaker Vetrimaaran's assistant

Nearly a month after its theatrical release, the critically acclaimed Tamil police drama Sirai is coming to the streaming space. The film, which was released in theatres on December 25, 2025, will hit Zee5 on January 23, 2026.

Headlined by Vikram Prabhu and LK Akshay Kumar, Sirai revolves around the interactions between a Head Constable Kathiravan (Vikram Prabhu) who is tasked with escorting a young murder accused, Abdul Rauf, to court, during the course of which he gets to learn more about the latter and the circumstances that led to his capture. But is it really what it seems on the surface, or is there more to it than what Kathiravan sees? Could the young man be innocent?

The film was based on an incident witnessed by writer Tamizh when he worked as a policeman. Tamizh co-wrote the script with the film's director Suresh Rajakumari. Sirai is Rajakumari's directorial debut. He previously worked as Vetrimaaran's assistant. The Visaranai and Vada Chennai filmmaker endorsed the film during its theatrical release.

The film was praised for its realistic, gritty approach and intense performances. Other leading cast members include Anishma Anilkumar and Ananda Thambirajah.

Produced by SS Lalit Kumar of Seven Screen Studios, Sirai has cinematography by Madhesh Manickam and music by Justin Prabhakaran. Philomin Raj handled the editing.
