Actor Tovino Thomas' Pallichattambi, announced a long time ago but completed only recently, has an official release date. The makers of the period action thriller, helmed by Dijo Jose Anonty ("Queen", "Jana Gana Mana"), announced that the film will hit theatres on April 9.
Kayadu Lohar plays the female lead in the film, which was shot in regions such as Thodupuzha and Mysore. Other major cast members include Vijayaraghavan, Sudheer Karamana, Baburaj, Vinod Kedamangalam, and Prashanth Alex, among others.
Tovino, who was last seen in Lokah: Chapter 1 - Chandra, opposite Kalyani Priyadarshan, has an exciting line-up that comprises Pallichattambi, Athiradi, and the planned sequel to Lokah, which will have his character as the main focus.
Interestingly, Pallichattambi will see Tovino once again returning, as he did in Ajayante Randaam Moshanam, to an older time period. The film, written by S. Suresh Babu, is reportedly set in the 1950s and 60s. The first-look promo announcing the release date hints at the same. The actor is seen in a rowdy get-up, seemingly in the middle of an intense, night action sequence.
Pallichattambi is produced by Naufal and Brijeesh under the banner of Worldwide Films. Charan, Chanukya, Chaitanya, and Thanzeer are co-producing under the banner of C Cube Bro Entertainments.
It has music by Jakes Bejoy and cinematography by Tijo Tomy. Dileep Nath is the production designer.
Meanwhile, Tovino is also part of Athiradi, starring Basil Joseph and Vineeth Sreenivasan. It is directed by Arun Anirudhan, who co-wrote the script of Tovino's Minnal Murali. It is aiming for an Onam release.
