Punjabi and Bollywood singer B Praak, whose real name is Prateik Bachan, allegedly received a death threat from a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

The call was made to his associate singer Dilnoor on January 5. Dilnoor received two missed calls from an international number, and the calls continued on January 6. Dilnoor briefly connected to the number but cut the call after sensing something suspicious.

An hour later, a voicemail was sent to the number from a person who identified as Anmol Bishnoi (identified in early reports as Arju Bishnoi), the brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who is believed to be operating from abroad.

The message offered an ultimatum to either pay 1 crore by the ned of the week or face the consequences.

The caller also explicitly told Dilnoor to convey the message to B Praak.

“Pass this message to B Praak that we want 10 crore. You have one week. Go to any country you want, but if anyone associated with him is found nearby, we will cause damage," the audio message said and then added that if the demand isn’t met, they will “reduce him (B Praak) to dust."

Unsettled by the threatening message, Dilnoor immediately contacted the Mohali police and filed a report. SSP Mohali ordered an immediate investigation into the case. Police are working to trace the person who made the call and the threat.

Dilnoor is a long-time friend and fan of B Praak, and the two worked together for the first time in 2014.

B Praak is a singer, composer, and music producer who lives in Mohali.

The incident comes amid a series of violent incidents related to the Lawrence gang. Around the New Year, 25 rounds were fired outside the home of business man in Rohini at around 6 pm. The gang often calls to make the threat and then opens fire at the victim's residence.
