On Sunday (January 4), a video of popular actress-dancer Sudha Chandran has gone viral on the internet. During a religious gathering, Sudha appeared to be emotionally charged and in an uncontrollable state of mind as she jumped around the venue while listening to a devotional song. While some devotees tried to help her gain composure, Sudha ended up biting one of those people, causing further commotion.
The 60-year-old is known for her supreme dancing skills despite having just a single legitimate leg. At the age of 16, a car crash caused severe wounds to both her legs. Eventually her right leg had to be amputated and since then, Sudha went through a huge transformation by using a prosthetic leg.
Despite the massive physical and mental trauma from the accident, Sudha continued her passion for dancing and acting also became a part of her life. In 1984, Sudha did her first film in Telugu, titled Mayuri and in 1993, she made her television debut. Over the last three to four decades, Sudha has been a strong understated name in the field of entertainment, although dance remains her primary skill.

Mayuri was virtually a biopic of Sudha as it told the story of a teenage dancing wonderkid who loses her right leg after a serious car accident. Such was Sudha's level of performance that she got a Special Jury National Award in 1985. Over the years, Sudha has been part of many films and television series across genres.
Sudha has also been part of reality dance shows as a celebrity judge. Originally from Vayalur in Tamil Nadu, Sudha was born and brought up entirely in Mumbai. Her father KD Chandran was also a veteran actor in Indian cinema.
