Dileep's latest release Bha Bha Ba continues to struggle at the box office. The trends were visible even on the opening day that still registered a huge figure of Rs 7.20 crore. The trends on Saturday saw further dip in collections and while Sunday showed a slight jump, it wasn't anything significant. Due to Mohanlal's cameo, the film managed a strong push on the first day but still only ended with an extended four-day weekend figures of Rs 17-17.50 crore in Kerala.
Despite the cracks in the weekend, a stable Monday would have eased some worries but Bha Bha Ba saw another huge fall as it dropped by more than 65 percent from Friday, once again revealing a poor trend for the film. On its sixth day, early estimates are indicating a very similar day to Monday as it will crawl its way past Rs 1 crore.
That these figures are coming amidst a lucrative festival season in Kerala tells us how the big the underperformance is. There has been a strong negative trend against the film not just due to the quality but also due to the wave against lead actor Dileep. It must be noted that he was acquitted from the actress assault case on December 8 after being charged back in 2017.
Whether is the strong negative sentiment against Dileep or the quality of Bha Bha Ba, the film is ultimately the loser at this point. It will need a drastic push during the Christmas-New Year phase, otherwise it will be a losing venture at the box office. Current trends point towards that and HIT status appears to be out of the window.
