Dileep's latest release Bha Bha Ba has hit the screens this Thursday (December 18). Touted to be his biggest film till date in terms of budget and hype, Bha Bha Ba is a crucial film for the actor who hasn't had a box office success since 2017. To add to these are the allegations that were on him regarding the actress assault case in Kerala since 2017, although he was acquitted on December 8, 2025.
Back to the film, Dileep has played his cards well for Bha Bha Ba which is a mass entertainer that has been marketed as a logicless spoof film. Comparisons with Ajith Kumar's Good Bad Ugly have been seen on social media from the early reviews of Bha Bha Ba which carries mixed reports from the audience at the moment. However, the film is set for a huge opening day at the box office.
Mohanlal, who has endured a stupendous 2025 with three big successes and two re-release successes, is back to peak box office form and Dileep has used this smartly by placing the veteran in an impactful cameo. The presence of Mohanlal in Bha Bha Ba's official trailer was enough to raise the hype of the film which otherwise only had average buzz, that too mostly among Dileep's fans.
However, Mohanlal's presence in the trailer and the glimpses of his song with Dileep has helped Bha Bha Ba's pre-release sales on the opening day and it is set to be the third biggest opening day of 2025 in Kerala, only behind Empuraan and Coolie. Early estimates hint at an opening day of Rs 7-8 crore in Kerala.
Such a big opening day does help for Bha Bha Ba but it will need to show solid trends across the weekend. The Christmas period is the vacation zone for schools and colleges in Kerala, and this season used to be Dileep's stronghold once upon a time. Whether Bha Bha Ba can repeat his yesteryear heroics, only time will tell.
