Bollywood influencer and socialite Orhan Awatramani, better known as Orry, has been summoned for questioning by the Ghatkopar unit of the Mumbai Police's Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) on Thursday, in connection with a Rs 252 crore drugs case from 2024.

Famed for his lavish lifestyle, the Bollywood influencer's name appeared in the case after the deportation and arrest of Mohammad Salim Mohammad Suhail Shaikh, an alleged aide of fugitive gangster Salim Dola.

The alleged drug trafficker, who was extradited from Dubai earlier this month, had told the Mumbai Police that Orry had allegedly attended his lavish parties in Mumbai and Dubai.

However, it remains unclear how many of Shaikh's parties the Bollywood influencer attended.

Other famous faces thought to have attended these parties are actresses Shraddha Kapoor and Nora Fatehi, producer duo Abbas-Mustan, politician Zeeshan Siddique, as well as Alishah Parkar, the nephew of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.

The Rs 252 crore drug probe dates back to the August 2022 arrest of a person from South Mumbai. This led to a number of arrests, setting the stage for the massive 2024 drug bust, as per a Hindustan Times report.

In March 2024, the Mumbai Police seized more than 120kg of mephedrone (a synthetic stimulant) worth about Rs 252 crore from a manufacturing unit located in a farm in Sangli, Maharashtra.

As the investigation pressed deeper, the Sangli drug unit, allegedly managed by fugitive drug trafficker Salim Dola and his son Taher, was found to be part of a larger drug network involving expensive cars and money laundering.
