Bison Kaalamaadan Dhruv Vikram's 'Bison Kaalamaadan' is doing steady business at the box office

Dhruv Vikram's Bison Kaalamaadan continues to stay rock solid at the box office. The Mari Selvaraj directorial took a slow start but has remained strong on the back of excellent word-of-mouth that was powered the film across the board, especially in Tamil Nadu where the Diwali season has also given a boost to the film.

The social drama, inspired by the real life story of Kabaddi player Manathi Ganesan, grossed Rs 29.30 crore in its opening week at the Tamil Nadu box office with the eighth day collections coming to around Rs 1.45 crore. The film is showing a jump in collections on its ninth day with the weekend taking effect.

The advance booking for the day in TN stood at Rs 1 crore, almost the same as Pradeep Ranganathan's Dude but recent days have shown that the Dhruv-starrer has seen more walk-ins in comparison to its competitor. Bison Kaalamaadan could be in line for a Rs 2 crore gross in TN on its ninth day, which would take its total collections in the state to Rs 33 crore approximately.

Going by the trends, Bison Kaalamaadan could have a better second weekend than Dude although the latter is still comfortably the Diwali winner in the state unless something miraculous happens in the coming weeks. Both films are box office successes and it is now a matter of where the two films will finish in terms of their numbers.
