Lokah: Chapter 1 - Chandra, which has consistently minted a minimum of Rs 2 crore in India on each day since its opening, has crossed Rs 125 crore on Day 21 in net domestic collection. But last week, a Japanese anime, titled Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle has entered Indian screens, collecting Rs 50 crore in just six days.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle collected Rs 12.85 crore on its opening day, followed by Rs 13.1 crore on Day 2, Rs 13.85 crore on Day 3, Rs 3.9 crore on Day 4 and Rs 4.08 crore on Day 5. It earned Rs 2.51 crore as of 8 pm on Day 6 (September 17), taking its total net domestic collection to Rs 50.29 crore.
In India, the Japanese anime collected Rs 15 crore in pre-sale business alone, including Rs 75 lakh in Kerala. It has released in Japanese, English, Hindi and Telugu. With this unprecedented collection from India for a Japanese movie, desi films, including Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra, are likely to face a strong rival at the box office.
How much did Lokah: Chapter 1 - Chandra collect on Day 21?
On Day 21, the Kalyani Priyadarshan starrer raked in Rs 1 crore as of 8 pm on Wednesday. This takes its total net domestic earnings to Rs 125.79 crore, according to Sacnilk.
In the first week, Lokah Chapter: 1 Chandra collected Rs 54.7 crore, with the Malayalam version bagging Rs 42.45 crore. It earned Rs 5.05 crore in Tamil and Rs 15 lakh in Hindi. The second week saw the earnings at Rs 47 crore, with Rs 35.9 crore in Malayalam, Rs 4 crore in Tamil and Rs 2 crore in Hindi.
