Kerala Box Office all-time Top 10: 'Lokah Chapter: 1 Chandra' to cross 'Aavesham' today; set to become all-time no.2 grosser by this week

'Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra' continues its rapid pace at the Kerala Box Office and is on track to become all-time no.2 grosser by this week

'Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra' has grossed Rs 209 crore in 14 days

There is no stopping Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra at the box office, be it in Kerala, Rest of India or overseas. After two weeks, the film's worldwide gross stands at Rs 209 crore, becoming only the fourth Mollywood film to go past Rs 200 crore. The other three films to do so are Manjummel Boys, Empuraan and Thudarum. With exceptional trending overseas and in Rest of India, Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra is certain to become the all-time second highest worldwide grosser from Mollywood. The question is whether it can breach Empuraan's numbers and become the all-time no.1 in the industry. Current trends suggest that the film is on track but it will need another solid week or two to get there.

Meanwhile, at the Kerala Box Office, it is Thudarum that holds the top spot with Rs 118 crore and it is the only film to get into triple figures in the state. After 15 days, Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra has grossed Rs 74.81 crore and finds itself at seventh spot in the all-time list. Today (September 12), it is expected to go past Aavesham (Rs 76 crore) and move into sixth spot by the end of the day. The next two days are expected to see a surger in collections owing to the weekend and Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra will break into the top-5 with an outside chance of moving to the no.4 spot.

Currently, Jude Antony Joseph's survival drama 2018, based on the Kerala floods of 2018, holds the second spot with Rs 89 crore while Empuraan is at no.3 with Rs 86.25 crore. At no.4 is Pulimurugan (Rs 85.10 crore) which continues to be in the top-5 even after nine years of release. Prithviraj's Aadujeevitham is at fifth spot with Rs 79.28 crore, followed by  Fahadh Faasil's Aavesham. Going the trends, Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra is on track to get to no.5 by the weekend with an outside chance of upstaging Pulimurugan depending on where Sunday lands.

Nevertheless, during the weekdays, it should go past it, Empuraan and 2018 to get to no.2 in the all-time list. Breaching Thudarum will take some doing and for now, the task looks difficult although it is definitely not out of sight.
