Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra is tearing apart the record books in Mollywood on a daily basis. This fantasy action flick directd by Dominic Arun, starring Kalyani Priyadarshan and Naslen in lead roles, has already zoomed past Rs.100 crores globally and is set to touch Rs.170 crores worldwide today (September 6). With the Hindi version releasing on September 5, and the continous upward trend for the other versions, we can safely say that Rs.200 crores worldwide gross will be touched in this weekend itself. Phenomenal!
Coming to the Day 9 collections of Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, the film made optimal use of Thiruvonam day as it garnered Rs.22 crores globally - an all-time record for any Malayalam film on its second Friday. The fact that the second Friday is the film's ninth day makes this achievement all the more special. There is an obvious jump in its collections on Day 10 and the film set to touch Rs.25 crores globally at a bare minimum. It will be the biggest second weekend for any Mollywood film
After nine days, Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra has approximately collected Rs.145 crores worldwide and should go past Rs.170 crores globally on its tenth day. With the weekend still to come, the coveted Rs.200 crore club now seems only a matter of time. In Kerala, the film will go breach the Rs.50 crore milestone on its tenth day, making it the third fastest of all time, after Empuraan (5 days) and Thudarum (8 days).
The film has also touched Rs.150 crores globally on its tenth day, making it the seventh Mollywood film to do so.
