A special announcement for season 2 of Netflix’s 'One Piece' series is out now, and has already crossed 1.5 million views on YouTube within 24 hours. More updates like the release date and time will be revealed during Netflix’s global fan event TUDUM, airing live (on the streaming platform) on May 31st at 8 PM ET (5:30AM IST on June 1).
Netflix’s 'One Piece' is a live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s iconic manga of the same name. Oda is also a part of the series, serving as an executive producer and creative consultant.
The story follows Monkey D. Luffy, played by Iñaki Godoy, a cheerful and passionate pirate who dreams of becoming the King of Pirates by finding a legendary treasure called One Piece.
Throughout Luffy’s journey, he is joined by his Straw Hat crew: swordsman Roronoa Zoro (Mackenyu), cartographer Nami (Emily Rudd), sniper king Usopp (Jacob Romero Gibson), and cook and skilled fighter Sanji (Taz Skylar). All five cast members will return in season 2.

Season 1 was a global success and topped Netflix charts in 46 countries, spending 8 weeks on Netflix’s Global Top 10, crossing a staggering 40 million views in less than two weeks.
Season 2 began filming in June 2024, and production was officially completed in February 2025. New cast members include stars Sendhil Ramamurthy (known for 'Never Have I Ever') as Nefertari Cobra and Charithra Chandran (known for 'Bridgerton') as Miss Wednesday.
Oda, who selected actors via photos and videos, praised the cast after visiting the set, saying that they were “absolutely the perfect choice” and that the vibe on set was “just the best!”
The introduction of the desert kingdom of Alabasta is set to bring even more excitement. Fans look forward to more in-depth character arcs, new characters, and the chemistry between the Straw Hats. As the 'One Piece' world continues to expand, the anticipation for the new season is making more noise than ever.
