‘Maa’ poster released: Kajol’s faces off against the supernatural in the horror flick

Kajol unleashes horror and mythology in ‘Maa’, a supernatural thriller where good and evil clash in stormy, suspense-filled drama

If you like being creeped out on a Monday afternoon, Kajol’s got you covered. The actress has dropped the poster of her next big screen release, Maa. The film, a horror feature, “explores the timeless battle between good and evil, delivering spine-chilling suspense and intense drama.”

The actress shared a poster of her in a fierce face-off with a demon, set against the backdrop of a stormy night crashing down with lightning. Along with the poster, the actress also disclosed that the trailer would be released in the coming days. “Rakshak. Bhakshak. MAA. The protector. The destroyer. Trailer drops in 4 days,” the actress penned in the caption.

Fans were excited to see their favourite actress return to the screens, with one user writing, “Congratulations. Here it's come actual Blockbuster. Can't wait to see this Masterpiece [sic],” while another commented, “We are waiting impatiently.”

From the makers of Shaitaan (2024), starring Kajol’s husband Ajay Devgn, Maa is a mythological thriller helmed by Vishal Furia and penned by Saiwyn Quadras. The film is bankrolled by Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande and Kumar Mangat Pathak. It is presented by Jio Studios and Devgn Films. Kajol stars alongside Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, Jitin Gulati, Yaaneea Bharadwaj, and Gopal Singh.

Earlier in March, the actress released a motion poster of the horror flick featuring a terrified little girl wrapped in the arms of Kajol as supernatural beings loom.

Maa marks Kajol’s first theatrical release since Salaam Venky in 2022. She is also expected to feature in two more releases in 2025, Sarzameen and Maharagni-Queen of Queens. Maa will hit theatres on June 27.
