Superboys of Malegaon is on its way to OTT! Previously available on rent, the film will be free to view for Amazon Prime Video subscribers from April 25.
Penned by Varun Grover (Masaan, All India Rank), the film, based on real events that happened in the small town of Malegaon in Maharashtra, features Adarsh Gourav, Shashank Arora, Vineet Kumar Singh, and Anuj Singh Duhan.
An amateur filmmaker named Nasir Shaikh, hailing from Malegaon, played by Adarsh Gourav (The White Tiger, Guns & Gulaabs), is the subject of the film backed by Excel Entertainment and Tiger Baby Films.
It is inspired by Faiza Ahmad Khan's well-received 2008 documentary Supermen of Malegaon, which was also endorsed by Anurag Kashyap.

Superboys of Malegaon was bankrolled by Kagti and long-time collaborator and filmmaker Zoya Akhtar under their Tiger Baby Films banner. Additionally, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani also produced the flick under Excel Entertainment Productions. The film collected a reported Rs 5.3 crore at the box office.
The film had its big premiere on an international stage at the Toronto Film Festival held in September last year, following which it was selected for screening at the 68th BFI London Film Festival and in competition at the fourth edition of the Red Sea Film Festival. Superboys of Malegaon had its India theatrical release on February 28.
The film received rave reviews accompanied by accolades including the Best Film award at the inaugural National Indian Film Festival of Australia. The Reema Kagti directorial also received an Honourable Mention at the Philadelphia Film Festival as part of ‘Focus on India’ as well as the Young Cineastes Award, a Special Mention at the Palm Springs International Film Festival.
