Earlier this year, Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was stabbed at his Mumbai residence with a 2.5-inch knife lodged in his back. The actor was rushed to the hospital and discharged within the week, nonetheless, a terrifying incident for the family. Now, Sara Ali Khan, Saif’s first-born, is opening up about the matter.
In a conversation with NDTV, the actress discussed that the family felt “grateful” as the incident could have resulted to be more fatal. “It makes you realise what truly matters. The entire family only felt gratitude because it could have gone so wrong. I am so grateful that everything is fine. It was a reminder almost of the life we have. We all talk about practising mental health. Being grateful for your life is so important. And moments like that make you realise it," Sara said.
When asked if the incident strengthened their father-daughter bond, the 29-year-old said, “It is not about being closer. He is my father, we are as close as we can be. It did not make me realise that he is my father, it made me realise that life can change overnight. So, every day deserves mindful celebration. It made me realise just being grateful."
"It takes COVID to realise the importance of being at home with your family or it takes somebody being almost attacked for you to be like, 'Okay, life matters'. Life does matter. The small joys do matter. Celebrate every day that you are alive. That is what life is about," she added.
