Lucifer re-release

The makers of Mohanlal's 2019 blockbuster Lucifer has confirmed its re-release on March 20, a week before its sequel Empuraan hits theatres.

Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran as his directorial debut, the film scripted by Murali Gopy, and produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas, also featured Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Vivek Oberoi, and Indrajith Sukumaran in lead roles.

A couple of days ago, it was revealed that Aashirvad Cinemas and producing partner Lyca Productions got into a conflict concerning terms related to theatre business. However, on Saturday, the team revealed that Gokulam Movies replaced Lyca Productions after resolving the financial deals that previously hit a snag. The new official posters now carry the Gokulam logo.

Confirming Gokulam's involvement on his official 'X' handle, Mohanlal wrote: "Team #L2E #Empuraan is delighted to announce our association with the trail blazing market leaders Gokulam Movies to bring this magnum opus to the screens. A special thanks to Shri. Gokulam Gopalan for showing immense faith and confidence in our team and the film we have created."

The Empuraan team also announced that bookings for early 6 am shows have been planned for the sequel. Sharing the update, Mohanlal wrote, "The first day, first show of #L2E #Empuraan will start at 6:00 AM IST on the 27th of March 2025. Shows across the world will start at the corresponding time in respective time zones."

Empuraan will see Mohanlal and Prithviraj reprising their roles from the original alongside fellow returning co-stars Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Indrajith Sukumaran, and a few others, in addition to new cast members who are playing characters in a story that spans multiple locations across the globe.

The sequel will introduce new, bigger threats for Stephen Nedumpally aka Khureshi Ab'raam (Mohanlal) and his lieutenant Zayed Masood (Prithviraj).
