Hollywood star Anne Hathaway, in a recent interview, ahead of her film, The Idea of You, said that tests to check chemistry between actors have come a long way since the 2000s. Hathaway, in an interview with V Magazine, said she had to kiss at least ten men for the team behind a film in order to find her perfect co-star.
“It was considered normal to ask an actor to make out with other actors to test for chemistry, which is actually the worst way to do it. I was told, ‘We have 10 guys coming today and you’re cast. Aren’t you excited to make out with all of them?’ And I thought, ‘Is there something wrong with me?’ because I wasn’t excited. I thought it sounded gross,” the Oscar-winning actor said.
“It wasn’t a power play, no one was trying to be awful or hurt me. It was just a very different time and now we know better,” she added. Her upcoming film, The Idea of You, has her date a younger musician played by Nicholas Galitzine.
She is also a producer in the film. Her character, a 40-year-old single mom, meets Galitzne's character when she accompanies her teenage daughter to Coachella. The movie streams on Amazon Prime Video starting May 2. Galitzine was last seen in the mini-series Mary & George and the film, Red, White & Royal Blue.
