Actress Sushmita Sen shocked her fans recently when she took to social media to reveal about suffering a heart attack. In an Instagram post on March 2, she also revealed that she got an angioplasty done and got a stent put in her heart. The actress's Aarya co-star Vikas Kumar has now shared she suffered the heart attack while shooting for season 3 of the hit Disney plus Hotstar series in Jaipur.
In an interview to News 18, Kumar said that even Sushmita realised it was a heart attack only after a few tests were done, adding that even the team go to know only when she shared it on social media. He said: “We didn’t know at first about it. Ultimately in a couple of days, we got to know, as she revealed it to the world.”
Kumar said that the actress wanted to share the news to the world herslef as she did not want to 'create noise'. “In the beginning, even she didn’t know what happened. Tests were done and all. She finally came to know that it was a heart attack, and that’s when she shared it on Instagram. Till then, none of us, actors, knew about it. That’s how it should be because otherwise, it becomes noise. She didn’t want it that way. She wanted to tell the world herself,” he said.
After sharing the news of the heart attack, the actress thanked her well-wishers for the prayers and support. Sharing more details, she said there was '95 per cent blockage in the main artery. Sushmita, also a fitness enthusiast, said her healthy lifestyle helped her survive a 'big heart attack, and urged everyone to maintain an active lifestyle. Will be heading back to Aarya, she said in the message posted in March.
