All Quiet on the Western Front

Based on a German novel, All Quiet on the Western Front follows 17-year-old German soldier who lies about his age so that he can fight in World War I. But his initial excitement is brutally shattered by the grim realities of life in the trenches. The film, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, will be Germany’s official entry for the 2023 Oscars in the Best International Feature Film category.
