A quick look at some of the upcoming OTT releases

Theatres have opened across the country, and a few star-studded films like Annatthe and Sooryavanshi will hit the big screens amid Diwali festivities. Streaming platforms, too, are set for an interesting week with the release of movies and series.

Suriya-starrer Jai Bhim which released on Amazon Prime Video on November 2 has been receiving great reviews. The film is based on true events that happened in the 1990s in Tamil Nadu and follows the story of a couple, Senggeni and Rajakannu, from the Irular tribal community. Camp Confidential: America's Secret Nazis, an animated documentary short also released on Netflix on November 2. In the short, WWII veterans reveal a secret US military camp near Washington where Jewish soldiers hosted and interrogated Nazi POWs.

Meenakshi Sundareshwar: Netflix

Release date: Nov 5

Set in Tamil Nadu's Madurai, the romantic-comedy starring Sanya Malhotra and Abhimanyu Dassani, speaks to the trials and tribulations of a young couple - Meenakshi and Sundareshwar. The film will mark the directorial debut of Vivek Soni, who had earlier made the 2012 short Bawdi. Soni has co-written the movie with Aarsh Vora.

Father Christmas is Back: Netflix

Release date: Nov 7

Christmas season comes early with this comedy drama starring Elizabeth Hurley, John Cleese and Kelsey Grammer. Four feuding sisters get a crash course in family togetherness when their long-lost father shows up for Christmas at their posh ancestral manor, reads the movie's synopsis on Netflix.

Narcos Mexico Season 3: Netflix

Release date: Nov 5

The popular series will return without lead star Diego Luna, who portrayed Mexican drug cartel leader Felix Gallardo, and the new chapter will examine the war that breaks out after Felix's empire splinters. The season two finale gave rise to the Sinaloa, Tijuana and Juarez cartels that plan to take up Gallardo's place. As newly independent cartels struggle to survive political upheaval and escalating violence, a new generation of Mexican kingpins emerge.
