Kannada superstar Puneeth Rajkumar passed away on Friday. He was admitted to a private hospital in Bengaluru on Friday morning after he suffered a heart attack. He was 46.
The youngest son of Kannada cinema legend Rajkumar, Puneeth is referred to as 'Power Star' by fans. Puneeth started his acting career as a child artist along with his father. He won the National Film Award for Best Child Artist for his role of Ramu in Bettada Hoovu (1985).
Puneeth's first leading role came opposite Rakshita in Appu (2002), a highly successful romantic drama directed by Puri Jagannadh. He won the Fillmfare Award for his performance in Arasu and the Karnataka State Film Award for Milana (2007).
In 2012, he made his television debut by hosting Kannadada Kotyadhipati, Kannada version of Kaun Banega Crorepati.
