Photographs from wedding of Bengali actress Nusrat Jahan, who recently became first-time MP, were shared on social media. Nusrat tied the knot with Kolkata-based businessman Nikhil Jain on June 20 in Turkey.
Nusrat, who had skipped the oath-taking ceremony due to wedding, took oath as member of the Lok Sabha on Tuesday. Her friend and actress-turned politician Mimi Chakraborthy also took oath on Tuesday, as she was away with Nusrat in Turkey for the wedding. Mimi is also a first-time MP of the Trinamool Congress, won from West Bengal's Jadavpur. Nusrat Jahan won on a Trinamool Congress ticket from West Bengal's Basirhat. Nusrat and Mimi were among the women candidates hand-picked by Mamata Banerjee during the recent Lok Sabha polls.
The two young MPs were trolled on social media recently after they posted selfies in front of the parliament. They drew social media ire for being 'inappropriately dressed' for parliament. The young women had worn formal pants and tops.
According to reports, Nusrat Jahan and Nikhil Jain will hold a reception in Kolkata on July 4.
