As Tamil Nadu's South Indian Artistes' Association or Nadigar Sangam gears up for its elections to be held on June 23, actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar lashed out at actor and current secretary, Vishal. Vishal's campaign video that was uploaded on his YouTube channel Vishal Film Factory, takes a dig at actor Sarathkumar.

Vishal and Sarathkumar have had a bitter relationship in the past when Vishal and his faction accused the latter and Radha Ravi of mismanagement of the Nadigar Sangam functioning. Though Sarathkumar is not contesting the current elections, the video mentions his tenure. In 2015, the Nadigar Sangam elections had grabbed eyeballs with Nasser being elected as president and Vishal secretary. Sarathkumar had been elected president unopposed three times till then. The tiff between the factions had heated up so much that the Madras High Court had to intervene to oversee the elections.

Lashing out at Vishal for dragging her father's name into this, Varalaxmi, shared a note on Twitter in which she said she had lost all respect for Vishal. “I am saddened and shocked at how low you have stooped down in your recent election campaign video... any respect I have left for you is gone..” she wrote.

“I respected you and I have been there for you as a friend always. Now you have taken it too far.. it's so sad instead of making a positive video about the things you have achieved you resorted to the lowest form of campaigning,” she added.

Varalaxmi concluded the note stating that Vishal had just lost her vote.
