Hollywood actor Johnny Depp, locked in an acrimonious legal battle with Amber Heard after they decided to part ways in 2016, has accused his ex-wife of faking bruises in order to fabricate a case of domestic violence against him.
According to media reports, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor, in a detailed declaration submitted to a Virginia courthouse on Monday, alleged that he was not physically abusive towards Heard, and that she "painted" bruises on her face.
Depp also made a weird claim that his former wife defecated in his bed as a "sick prank".
The legal battle between the two, who were separated after a few months of marriage, began after Heard, in a Washington Post opinion column claimed that she was a victim of "domestic abuse". This lead to Depp slapping civil lawsuit against her, demanding $50 million and accusing her of defaming him.
She reacted by filing a set of documents, detailing the abuse that she faced when the two were married. Heard also submitted photos of herself with injuries to her face to prove that she was attacked by Depp.
In the documents filed, Depp claimed that "while mixing prescription amphetamines and non-prescription drugs with alcohol" Heard "hit, punched, and kicked me. She also repeatedly and frequently threw objects into my body and head, including heavy bottles, soda cans, burning candles, television remote controls, and paint thinner cans, which severely injured me."
According to a statement to USA Today, Depp's lawyer said the documents submitted on Monday " "utterly destroys each of Amber Heard’s abuse hoaxes and shows she is a serial abuser of men and women who uses fraud to get what she wants.”
