Piracy has been the worst enemy of cinema of late. Ever since the advent of torrant sites, movies which get released in theatres are up for download on these sites barely hours after the release.

Three major South Indian releases this week—the Mohanlal starrer Lucifer, Vijay Sethupathi starrer Super Deluxe and Airaa with Nayanthara in the lead—have already been leaked online hours after their release.

According to media reports, the movies have been leaked to various torrant sites including Tamilrockers, madrasrockers, jio rockers, and moviezwap.

There have been many attempts to to block such sites, especially the most notorious of them—Tamilrockers. Tamil actor Vishal took the initiative to bring down the site, but failed to do so.

Lucifer, directed by Prithviraj and starring Mohanlal in the lead is a political thriller also starring Vivek Oberoi, Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas and Indrajith Sukumaran in the lead. The film received good to mixed reviews with many calling it a fanboy tribute to Mohanlal.

Super Deluxe opened to great reviews with all the reviewers praising the direction of Thiagarajan Kumararaja and a fine performance by Vijay Sethupathi. Airaa, meanwhile, received lukewarm response.
