The 90-second trailer of the movie opens with an overcrowded train, possibly alluding to the Partition of India and we see a boy running. This is followed by an voice-over by Salman Khan, explaining why his name is Bharat.
"People ask me what my surname is or what my caste or religion is. But Itell them with a smile that I have been named Bharat after this great nation. Then why would I add a surname to that and belittle that name and the name of this great nation," he says in the narration, suggesting that the film will have plenty of lessons on patriotism. If the teaser is anything to go by, Bharat will have plenty of action and explosion as well.
The movie also stars Disha Patani, Katrina Kaif, and Jackie Shroff in the lead. According to media reports, Bharat is based on Korean war drama An Ode To My Father.
