'Sridevi Bungalow': Priya Varrier's Bollywood debut inspired from Sridevi's death?

'Wink girl' Priya Prakash Varrier is gearing up for her Bollywood debut. The teaser of her first Bollywood film, Sridevi Bungalow, was released on Monday.

In the teaser, Priya plays a glamorous actress and refers to herself as Sridevi. The teaser has become talk of the town for its uncanny resemblance to late Bollywood actress Sridevi and her sudden death in Dubai last year. The teaser ends with the scene of the actress in the bathtub with only her feet visible. This has raised eyebrows as actress Sridevi had died of accidental drowning in a bathtub during her stay in a Dubai hotel.

Though makers have not come out with an official statement, the seemingly insensitive promotion has irked Sridevi's husband, Boney Kapoor. According to reports, he has sought legal action against the makers of the film. Speaking to media, Priya Varrier said the audience is free to interpret in their own way after watching the film. Sridevi Bungalow is written and directed by Prasanth Mambully who is a Malayali.
