After actress Tanushree Dutta opened up about alleged sexual harassment by actor Nana Patekar on the sets of a film in 2008, many celebrities have come out in her support. Though the incident happened 10 years ago, and was in the news at that time, it has assumed great significance in the times of #MeToo.

After a journalist shared a Facebook post validating Tanushree's version of events, support has grown for the actress. Farhan Akhtar, Swara Bhasker, Priyanka Chopra, Twinkle Khanna are some of the celebrities who took to social media to support Tanushree.

Tanushree, in an interview, has responded to Priyanka's and Twinkle's tweets. Responding to Farhan's tweet, Priyanka had tweeted that the world needs to believe survivors. In response to Priyanka's reply, Tanushree said: "Well, it's amazing. She (Priyanka) has finally decided to join the bandwagon. It's probably a smart thing to do at this point of time. But I just want people to know that I am not going to be reduced to a survivor. I have a name, I have a story and I have this truth that I am trying to get out because it's not for me but for people who will come forward in the generations to come."

Twinkle Khanna said that a healthy working environment is a fundamental right. Responding to this, Tanushree said in the same interview, that though she appreciates Twinkle's support, it should not be forgotten that her husband, Akshay Kumar, is still working with Nana Patekar in Housefull 4.

Tanushree had earlier called out actors like Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth who have collaborated with Nana Patekar over the last few years. “If such big stars will keep working with these culprits then there's no hope for any movement to happen,” Tanushree Dutta said.
