'Thugs of Hindostan' trailer: Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan promise a visual treat

The much-anticipated trailer of Thugs of Hindostan was out on Thursday, on the occasion of Yash Chopra's 86th birth anniversary. Starring Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Fatima Sana Sheikh and Katrina Kaif, the film is set in pre-independence India of 1795.

At the beginning of the trailer, a voice-over informs us that the East India company that came into India for darting, is now ruling the country. The film is expected to follow Khan and Bachchan as they wage their own battle against the British. Though the trailer shows Khan as being on the side of the British and trying to outsmart Bachchan, his allegiance could see a change. Besides the stellar cast, the trailer promises an engaging watch with extravagant mix of visual elements, stunts and creative costumes.

The character posters of the Vijay Krishna Acharya directorial, were shared earlier on social media. In Thugs of Hindostan, Amitabh Bachchan is Azaad, Aamir Khan is Firangi, Fatima is Zafira, and Katrina is Surraiyya. The film releases on November 8. The film also marks Bachchan and Khan's first big screen collaboration.

Taking to Twitter to share the trailer, Aamir Khan wrote: “Here come the Thugs! Its a big day for all of us. Missing Yash ji. Wish he was here with us. I hope that TOH will make your Diwali a fun and enjoyable ride!”

Thugs of Hindostan is based on Philip Meadows Taylor’s novel Confessions of a Thug.
