The controversial hip hop artist Kanye West is scheduled for a sit-down with popular American comedian Jimmy Kimmel, the host of ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live!. West is currently embroiled in controversy, after he came out in support of US President Donald Trump, posting a signed photo of a hat emblazoned with 'Make America Great Again'—his campaign slogan. Then, it took a turn for the worse. While speaking to the employees of the gossip news site TMZ at their headquarters, West claimed that “slavery was a choice”, going on to add that the black-on-black crime rates in the US were much higher than white-on-black crime rates. This resulted in a heated standoff with an employee at the organisation, the video of which later went viral.

On top of that are reports of a domestic disputes with wife Kim Kardashian, with whom the musician has a daughter, North. After West, Kardashian is scheduled for a sit down with Kimmel. In his last appearance on the show, in 2013, Kimmel and West had attempted to break the ice after a long feud between them spilled over to the social media. West had hit out against a Kimmel sketch, in which the comedian sledged the rapper's larger than life personality and a then infamous interview.
