Lalu Prasad's son Tej Pratap Yadav got engaged to Aishwarya Rai, daughter of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Chandrika Prasad Rai, at a hotel in Patna on Wednesday.
Tej Pratap Yadav, who followed in the political footsteps of his father, represents Mahua constituency in the Bihar assembly representing RJD.
Lalu Prasad, convicted in the fodder scam case, could not make it to the ceremony.
Earlier, Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister and Tej's brother Tejaswi Yadav had received 44,000 marriage proposals when he shared a phone number where citizens could WhatsApp their complaints about bad roads in the state.
Reportedly, most young women sent personal information, similar to a response to a marriage ad.
