Don't blame all Hindus: Actress slams Sonam Kapoor's tweet on Kathua rape

Mass protests were held across the country against the horrifying Kathua rape, and the move by right wing fringe elements to protest the arrest of the accused. Among the Bollywood celebrities to register their condemnation of the incident was Sonam Kapoor. According to a Times of India report, Sonam took to Twitter to write: “Ashamed appalled and disgusted by fake nationals and fake Hindus. I cannot believe this is happening in my country.”

However, the tweet was criticised by actress Koena Mitra who told her not to denigrate a whole community with a wide brush. "You condemded a heinous crime(I appreciate) but gave it a communal twist "Fake Hindus"."

Bollywood celebrities like Rajkummar Rao, Patralekha, Sameera Reddy, Twinkle Khanna, Tara Sharma, music director Vishal Dadlani, singer and social activist Sona Mohapatra, filmmaker Kiran Rao, Aditi Rao Hydari amd veteran actress Helen were among many others who came on the streets of Bandra in Mumbai to protest against the incidents of rape and seek justice.
