Will Bengaluru host another Aero India? Speculations end as IAF confirms venue for the show

Bengaluru is set to host another edition of the premier airshow, Aero India, in February 2027, ending the speculations about the event's next venue.

Ever since the previous edition of the show, there have been speculations that the event would be moved to another location.

However, on Tuesday, the Indian Air Force (IAF) Training Command confirmed that the 16th edition of the biennial airshow will be held in Yelahanka, Bengaluru.

Taking to X, the IAF Training Command said senior officers met Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and briefed him on the preparations for the upcoming airshow.

"On 04 August 2026, Air Marshal S. Shrinivas, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, #TrainingCommand, #IAF called on the Honourable #ChiefMinister of #Karnataka, Shri @DKShivakumar. The Air Marshal briefed the CM on the preparations and progress for the upcoming mega Air Show, ‘#AeroIndia2027’, scheduled to be held at Air Force Station Yelahanka, #Bengaluru in February 2027," the tweet by IAF Training Command read.

Shivakumar assured full cooperation from the state administration and departments to ensure that the airshow is executed smoothly and safely.

The exact dates of the event will be announced later by the defence ministry. 

The previous edition was held in Bengaluru from February 10 to 14, 2025. One of the major highlights of the event was the participation of two fifth-generation aircraft—the Russian Su-57 and the F-35 Lightning II of the US.

The 2025 event included a Defence Ministers’ Conclave, a CEOs’ Round-table, the Manthan start-up event, airshows, a large exhibition area, and a trade fair of aerospace companies. Government representatives, industry leaders, Air Force officers, scientists, defence sector experts, start-ups, and other stakeholders from across the globe participated in the event.
