Pakistan targets military stations at Jammu, Pathankot, Udhampur

India foils attempts by Pakistan to target military bases in Jammu, Pathankot and Udhampur along the International Border using drones and missiles

A blackout is seen after residents of the city of Jammu reported hearing explosions and sirens in Srinagar

Amid the ongoing military standoff between India and Pakistan in the wake of Operation Sindoor, the defence ministry said Pakistani-origin drones targetted military stations at Jammu, Pathankot and Udhampur.

"Military stations at Jammu, Pathankot & Udhampur were targeted by Pakistani-origin #drones and missiles along the International Border in J&K today," a tweet from the ministry read.

The ministry said these threats were swiftly neutralised using kinetic and non-kinetic capabilities in line with established Standard Operating Procedures.

No casualties or material losses have been reported so far.

According to the ministry, India is fully prepared to defend its sovereignty and ensure the safety of its people.

According to media reports, Indian security forces intercepted several drones and missiles that were fired by Pakistan along the International Border.

Loud explosions were heard in Jammu and blackouts and sirens were activated across the region.

Military sources said missiles from Pakistan were also directed at Jammu's Satwari, Samba, RS Pura and Arnia towns and that they were blocked by India's air defence systems.

On Thursday morning, Indian armed forces targeted air defence radars and systems at a number of locations in Pakistan. Indian response has been in the same domain with the same intensity as Pakistan, the ministry said.

It has been reliably learnt that an air defence system at Lahore has been neutralised, it added.
