Biscuit and snacks major Unibic Foods named Ajay Bathija as its Chief Executive Officer, the company announced today.
"In his new role, Ajay will lead Unibic’s strategic growth initiatives, drive business expansion across domestic and international markets and strengthen the company’s position in India’s competitive packaged foods industry," it said in an official statement.
Before joining Unibic, Bathija handled "several senior leadership roles" at The Coca-Cola Company for over 18 years, including leading marketing ops and strategies for India and the Southwest Asia market. He also served as the Managing Director at Coca-Cola, Bangladesh.
Unibic Board Chairman Sandeep Reddy hailed the incoming CEO’s "experience in brand building, consumer marketing and franchise leadership."

"We are confident that Ajay’s leadership will steer the company towards exceptional metrics and innovation while expanding our presence in both Indian and global markets," added Reddy.
Bathija welcomed the leadership role, noting the latest GST reforms creating a more favourable environment, making it "an opportune time to accelerate Unibic’s growth momentum."
The incoming CEO looks to lift Unibic’s product portfolio, expanding its market presence.
