Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology Jitendra Singh are set to visit the CSIR Start-up Conclave 2025 in Lucknow on September 15. The two-day conclave will be held from Sunday to Monday to promote indigenous technologies, start-ups.
Scientists, innovators, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, investors, and policymakers will also attend the event, centred on the theme 'Translating R&D into Start-ups: Innovation for Agriculture, Environment & Health for industries and society'.
The event is organised by four Lucknow-based laboratories of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR): CSIR-National Botanical Research Institute, CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute, CSIR-Indian Institute of Toxicological Research, and CSIR-Central Institute of Medicinal & Aromatic Plants.
More than 200 farmers and beneficiaries from various parts of the country under the CSIR Aroma & Floriculture Missions are expected to participate in the conclave. About 50 startups that use CSIR tech will also showcase their products at the event.
The Conclave is being held to strengthen collaboration between research institutions, industry, and entrepreneurs, foster technology-led start-ups, accelerate economic growth, and generate new avenues of employment and opportunities for the youth of Uttar Pradesh.
One of the aims of the event is to launch new products and technologies developed by CSIR labs and showcase innovations in areas like Agri-Nutri Biotech, health care, and environment.
Technology transfer agreements and MoU exchanges between industry, academia, and start-ups are another goal.
The initiative is also aligned with other programmes like Start-up India, Make in India, Digital India, and Atmanirbhar Bharat.
