Karisma Kapoor's children move Delhi HC over Sunjay Kapur's Rs 30,000 crore property will

Sunjay Kapur's property dispute escalates as Karisma Kapoor's children move the Delhi High Court, alleging their stepmother, Priya Kapur, fabricated his will

Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor's children moved the Delhi High Court seeking a share in their late father Sunjay Kapur's property worth Rs 30,000 crore.

Accusing their stepmother, Priya Kapur, the third wife of Sunjay Kapur, of fabricating the will to gain control of the assets, the children, represented by Karisma Kapoor, filed the suit.

According to PTI, the plaintiff claims that neither Kapur mentioned the will nor their stepmother, Priya Kapur, or any other person ever mentioned its existence. The suit alleges the conduct of Priya demonstrates, "without a doubt, that the alleged will has been fabricated" by her and is likely to come up for a hearing on September 10.

Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapur, who were married for 13 years, have a son and a daughter together. The suit names Priya Kapur, her minor son, his mother Rani Kapur and the purported executor of the will, Shradha Suri Marwah, as defendants, Bar and Bench reported.

The contentious will, dated March 21, 2025, allegedly leaves Sunjay Kapur’s entire personal estate to Priya Kapur.

“The Plaintiffs submit that the purported will allegedly executed by the Plaintiffs’ father is not a legal and valid document, is forged and fabricated and in any event surrounded by suspicious circumstances. It is for this reason that neither the original of the Alleged Purported Will has been shown to the Plaintiffs nor a copy of the Alleged Purported Will has been provided,” the suit states.

As per the suit, the children have approached the court to declare them Class I legal heirs and to pass a decree of partition granting them a one-fifth share each in their father’s assets. As interim measures, freezing of all personal assets belonging to Sunjay Kapur was sought until the matter is resolved.
