Software services major Infosys joined other companies in its league that have been encouraging their employees to end work from home and start returning to office.
According to media reports, the second-largest IT firm in the country asked some of its employees to work from the office 10 days a month. Certain entry and mid-level employees of the company have been asked to abide by this policy from November 20.
Infosys is yet to comment on the report.
Companies have been claiming that returning to work from office would lead to better efficiency and collaboration.
Infosys CEO Salil Parekh had recently said, "We are very clear that we want to remain flexible with our employees. Having said that, every quarter, every week we are seeing more and more employees back into the campus and we believe this will continue."
“There are some instances, for example, with specific client work or specific type of engagement where we feel it’s better that everyone is working together," Parekh had said.
The internal directive to the employees comes at a time when Infosys has been in the news over its co-founder N.R. Narayana Murthy suggestion to youngsters in the country to work 70 hours a week to improve India's productivity.
