Launching a fresh ammo against the Centre on Wednesday, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said India was reeling under Modi-made disasters. Gandhi went on to list the "Modi-made disasters", viz, worst fall in GDP growth rate, highest unemployment in 45 years, 12 crore job loss, Centre's inability to pay states their GST dues, highest daily cases and deaths of COVID-19 globally and external aggression at the borders.
Rahul Gandhi has been repeatedly targeting the Narendra Modi government over the issues of economic distress, China incursion and pandemic management for the past few weeks.
"GDP -23.9. The ruining of the country's economy began with demonetisation. Since then, the government introduced one erroneous policy after another," Rahul Gandhi had tweeted a day after the growth figures for the last quarter were published on Monday. The GDP contraction in the April-June quarter was the worst slump India's economy suffered on record.
Gandhi had also spoken of an "economic tsunami" six months ago as India started reporting COVID cases.
