Will CBSE class 10, 12 exam timetable be rescheduled?

The CBSE board exam timetable rescheduling is promised by the Examination Controller for Class 10 and 12 students after concerns were raised over consecutive exam dates

The CBSE Examination Controller has promised to reschedule the timetable of CBSE class 10, 12 board exams after concerns were raised over the scheduling of exams on two consecutive days.

Dr. Indira Rajan, secretary-general of the National Council of CBSE Schools, told Malayala Manorama that the exam controller has promised to address the issue, so as not to cause inconvenience to students.

As per the tentative timetable, the board examinations are scheduled to begin in February. For Class X, the Malayalam exam is scheduled for February 5, while Social Studies is scheduled for February 6. Students and parents are worried about the consecutive dates, which are unusual.

The Class 12 timetable has the same issue, and students are anxious because they feel they have very little time to prepare.

The issue was brought to the attention of the controller by schools and students, including the Kerala Council of CBSE Schools. They conveyed the  practical difficulties, noting that consecutive scheduling of exams would affect the children's performance. The Exam Controller had assured them that the timetable would be rearranged, Indira Rajan added.

The CBSE released a tentative schedule on the official website, cbse.gov.in, last month. As per the new format, the class 10 exams will be held in two phases; the first phase will begin on February 17 to March 9, 2026. The second, optional phase for improvement, or compartment examination, will be held from May 15 to June 1.
