IMD forecast rain thunderstorms on Monday

Kolkata, May 3 (PTI) The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast thunderstorms and rain in all the districts of the state on Monday.
    Issuing an orange warning, the IMD said that thunderstorms, accompanied by rain and gusty wind reaching speed of 50 to 60 kmph, are very likely to occur over all the districts of south Bengal on Monday, the day votes for the West Bengal assembly elections will be counted.
    The IMD said that thundershowers are very likely at many places in north Bengal on Monday, with the intensity being higher in Malda, Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri districts.
    Thunderstorms and rain are likely to occur across the state till May 7 in view of favourable wind pattern and strong moisture incursion from the Bay of Bengal, according to the IMD.
    Thunderstorms and rain are likely at several places in all the districts of West Bengal till May 7, it said.
    Thunderstorms and rain in several places of the state have kept day and night temperatures below normal, providing a welcome respite to the denizens during the ongoing summer season.
    Kolkata recorded a minimum temperature of 22.4 degrees Celsius, nearly four notches below average, the IMD data said.
