Minor gangraped in Panna district 4 arrested

Panna (MP), May 1 (PTI) Four men have been arrested for allegedly gangraping a teenage girl in the district, police said on Friday.
     The accused were paraded by the police through the main streets of Panna city after the arrests.
     The incident took place on April 29 when the accused forcibly took the girl, who was meeting a friend, to a forested area and allegedly raped her, Additional Superintendent of Police Vandana Singh Chauhan said.


    As she resisted, the accused beat her and threatened to kill her. They fled from the scene afterwards.
    A case was registered at Devendranagar police station on the victim's complaint and four teams were formed to hunt down the accused, the SP said.

     Shripal (22), Rahul (27), Shani Pal (23), and Hetram alias Hittu Patel (50), all residents of Baragaon village, were arrested from the same village where they were hiding, she said.
    Following the arrest, the accused were paraded around the city to verify the crime scene and comply with legal procedures, another police official said, adding that further probe was on.
