Jaipur, Mar 18 (PTI) Several parts of Rajasthan are likely to witness rain, gusty winds and isolated hailstorms from Wednesday onwards under the influence of a new circulation system, the Meteorological Department said.
According to the Meteorological Centre in Jaipur, a circulation system is likely to form over southwest Rajasthan and adjoining areas on March 18 due to the impact of a fresh western disturbance. Its effect is expected to bring thunderstorms with wind speeds of 40-50 kmph and rainfall at some places between March 18 and 20, with chances of hailstorms at isolated locations.
On Wednesday, parts of the Jodhpur division, Bikaner division and Shekhawati region are likely to receive light rain accompanied by gusty winds, while the remaining areas are expected to remain largely dry.
The impact is likely to intensify on March 19 and 20, when parts of the Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Udaipur and Kota divisions may experience thunderstorms, strong winds and rainfall, with isolated hailstorms also likely.
The weather office noted that the state remained dry during the 24 hours till Wednesday morning, with the maximum temperature recorded at 38.0 degrees Celsius in Chittorgarh and the minimum at 13.5 degrees Celsius in Sirohi.
