Speeding car jumps divider in west Delhi 2 injured

New Delhi, Mar 13 (PTI) Two men were injured after a recklessly driven car jumped over the divider and rammed into their vehicles on Dev Prakash Shastri Marg on Pusa road on Friday, an official said.
     The accident took place around 11 am when the driver allegedly lost control of the speeding car between Ratanpuri Chowk and Todapur, they said.
     The car jumped the divider and entered the opposite carriageway of Dev Prakash Shastri Marg, hitting a motorcycle and a scooter, triggering panic among commuters in the busy area.
     Passersby and locals rushed to help the injured riders and alerted the police. The bike rider, Amit Mishra, 33, sustained serious injuries, while Manish, who was riding the scooter, also suffered injuries.
     Police teams soon reached the spot and the injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Mishra, who sustained serious injuries in the crash, is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.
     "The vehicles involved in the accident have been taken into police custody as part of the investigation. Further investigation into the matter is underway. Statements of the witnesses are also being recorded to ascertain the exact sequence of events leading to the accident," the officer said.
     Legal action is being initiated against the driver responsible for the incident. Police said that they are also checking CCTV footage of the incident.
