* SC asked what was wrong if the president herself seeks views through a presidential reference on whether fixed timelines can be imposed on governors and the president for acting on bills passed by state legislatures.
* SC expressed displeasure over Central Forensic Science Laboratory's exercise to test the audio recordings pointing to the alleged role of former Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh in the ethnic violence in the state, calling it "misdirected".
* SC said the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) should consider the supervision of monuments inside Delhi's Mehrauli Archaeological Park including the 13th century "Ashiq Allah Dargah" and "Chillagah of Baba Farid", the revered Sufi saint.

* SC directed the Uttarakhand HC to decide the plea of "sevayat" of the Maa Chandi Devi Temple in Haridwar, seeking a stay on an order directing the Badri Kedar Temple Committee to appoint a receiver for overseeing the temple management.
