Shimla, Aug 15 (PTI) As part of the 79th Independence Day celebrations, the military band of the Shimla-headquartered Army Training Command (ARTRAC) stole the show at The Ridge on Friday with a vision to honour the country's freedom fighters, promote patriotic fervour among citizens, and celebrate the resounding success of Operation Sindoor.
The musical performance by the military band of the 14 Gorkha Training Centre captivated the audience, echoing the spirit of unity, valour, and sacrifice, officials said.
The event not only paid tributes to the country's freedom struggle, but also highlighted the accomplishments of the Indian armed forces, particularly the valour displayed during Operation Sindoor, India's military action targeting terror hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir in response to the April 22 Pahalgam attack.
The performance aimed to instill discipline, national pride, and a sense of responsibility among the youth, serving as a bridge between past heroes and future guardians of the nation, the officials said.
