Hyderabad, Jul 15 (PTI) Three people were arrested in connection with the murder of a man in Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri district of Telangana, police said on Tuesday.
Vasthapula Swamy, manager of a tractor showroom, died after the prime accused allegedly rammed his bike with a car on July 13 night, dragging it for about 120 feet, a release said Tuesday evening.
The victim's friend who was riding pillion suffered serious injuries and was admitted to a state-run hospital in Hyderabad.
The incident was initially reported as a road accident, but investigation revealed it to be a well-planned murder.
A police release said Swamy's wife got acquainted with the prime accused, G Sai Kumar in 2017 and they reconnected in 2024.
They subsequently developed "extra-marital relationship", it said.
During the probe, police found out that the deceased had an "extra-marital" affair with the wife of P Mahesh, an accused in the case. This caused deep resentment in Mahesh.
When the wife of the deceased confronted him about his affair, he harassed the former mentally and physically.
Unable to bear the abuse, the wife of the deceased, along with the main accused Sai Kumar and Mahesh plotted to eliminate him, it added.
All the three were arrested on July 14, police added.
