Delhi court grants bail to woman accused of pouring chilli-mixed boiling water on husband

New Delhi, Jun 11 (PTI) A Delhi court has granted bail to a woman accused of attempting to murder her husband by pouring boiling water mixed with red chilli powder on him, saying a final report had been filed in the case and she was no longer required for investigation.
     Additional Sessions Judge Saurabh Kulsreshtha was hearing the bail plea of Jyoti alias Kittu, against whom the Nangloi police station had registered an FIR.
     In an order dated July 9, the court said, "The version of the prosecution is that the applicant or accused is the wife of the complainant and on the day of incident she had thrown boiling water mixed with red chilly powder... and thereafter she fled from there after bolting the door from outside and after taking away the mobile phone of the complainant."
    It noted that the chargesheet had been filed under sections 109(1) (attempt to murder) and 351(2) (criminal intimidation) of the BNS.
    The court said, "At this stage, it is seen that as per medico-legal case (MLC), the victim has suffered simple injuries. The chargesheet has been filed against the accused, and she is no longer required for the investigation, and so far as the issue regarding threats to the victim and the witnesses is concerned, the same can be taken care of by imposing appropriate conditions."
    It granted bail subject to furnishing a bail bond and surety bond of Rs 30,000 each.
    The court also imposed other conditions, including not making any direct or indirect inducement, threat or promise to any person acquainted with the facts of the case, and not visiting the residence or the locality of the victim and public witnesses.
